Wild Coast Summer Camp

Explore, learn, and thrive outdoors

Discover the adventure of a lifetime at Wild Coast Summer Camp, a summer day camp where young outdoor enthusiasts can learn essential wilderness and bushcraft skills while exploring the stunning Oregon Coast and its surrounding forests. Campers will build shelters, forage for wild edibles, track wildlife, and master navigation techniques, all while connecting deeply with nature. From exploring tide pools and identifying marine life along the coastline to venturing into the forest to study native plants and wildlife, this hands-on program fosters self-reliance, teamwork, and resilience. With experienced guides leading the way, Wild Coast Summer Camp offers an unforgettable opportunity to develop valuable survival skills, appreciate diverse ecosystems, and cultivate a lifelong love for the great outdoors.

June 30 - July 4, Week 1: Forest Dwellers takes campers deep into the lush coastal woodlands, where they’ll explore hidden trails, build natural shelters, track wildlife, and discover the secrets of the forest. Through hands-on activities and immersive exploration, campers will develop wilderness skills while fostering a deep connection to nature.

July 7 - 11, Week 2: Earth Trackers is all about honing observation skills and learning to read the stories nature leaves behind. Campers will track wildlife, study animal signs, practice navigation, and explore how the land, water, and weather shape the coastal ecosystem.

July 14 - 18, Week 3: River Explorers takes campers on an adventure along the winding rivers and streams of the Oregon Coast, where they’ll discover freshwater ecosystems, explore the flow and formation of rivers, and learn about water safety and navigation. Through hands-on exploration, they’ll study aquatic life and deepen their understanding of the vital connections between land and water.

July 21 - 25, Week 4: Ocean Navigators immerses campers in the dynamic coastal environment, where they’ll learn to read tides, identify marine life, and explore the ever-changing shoreline. Through hands-on activities, they’ll discover the power of the ocean, practice coastal navigation, and deepen their connection to the sea.

July 28 - August 1, Week 5: Fire Walkers is all about harnessing the power of heat, light, and transformation in the natural world. Campers will explore the science of fire, learn traditional techniques for safely using heat for survival, and discover how fire has shaped ecosystems and human history.

August 4 - 8, Week 6: Sky Travelers takes campers on a journey through the skies, where they’ll explore the sun, moon, stars, and weather patterns to navigate and understand the natural world. Through hands-on activities, they’ll solar time, track the movement of clouds, and discover how the sky connects all living things.

**3 & 4-Year-Old Camp Week will run alongside our K-7 camp, offering a separate, age-appropriate curriculum with similar themes and activities tailored for younger campers. Led by our new preschool-K teacher, this special week provides a fun and engaging outdoor experience designed specifically for our youngest explorers!

August 11 - 15, Week 7: Village Builders brings together all the skills learned throughout the summer as campers work together to build a sustainable village using the natural resources around them. Combining elements from previous weeks, they’ll create shelters, set up water systems, and design communal spaces, all while fostering teamwork, problem-solving, and a strong sense of community.

At Wild Coast Camp, we offer activities tailored to different age groups, ensuring a fun and engaging experience for all campers entering kindergarten through 7th grade. Younger campers focus on foundational outdoor skills like exploring, tracking, and simple shelter-building, while older campers take on more advanced challenges such as navigation, using nature to create art, and teamwork-based survival activities. For those entering 8th grade or who are 14 years old, we offer a Junior Counselor Program, where they can develop leadership skills, assist younger campers, and gain hands-on experience in outdoor education. This structure allows campers to grow, learn, and take on new responsibilities as they progress through the program.
