Board of Trustees 2006-2007
Dick spent six years in the US Army, serving as an artillery officer. He worked
for a small manufacturing company for over 10 years, serving in positions from
cost accountant to executive vice-president and chief operating officer. He
subsequently provided consulting services to small businesses for many years.
He has a Masters of Business Administration degree. Dick, a long-time member
of the Portland Council, was elected Chair in November 2005. He is a member of
the Development Committee and Finance Committee.


Katharine came to the board in 2004 with 33 years of involvement in the school
as a past trustee, past Head of School and parent of three alums.





Bridget has been running Clouds Hill Farm Camp since 1991. Before that, she
was involved in the Metro Greenspaces program, cultural tourism, and economic
development in small towns, architectural crafts, the now Oregon College of
Arts and Crafts, and the American Crafts Council. She has always grown
vegetables, and at one point made a living as a potter. Before becoming a
trustee, she had been a member of the NVS Portland Council.

Graham has joined the Board after a thirty-year career with Boise Cascade,
preceded by a stint in advertising business in NYC and four-year tour with the
US Navy. He is currently serving as the Director of Minds Matter of Portland, a
volunteer supplementary education organization that focuses on highly
motivated, economically disadvantaged high school students. He also serves as
a volunteer tutor in two Portland inner-city schools, high school lacrosse coach,
jazz piano teacher, and business consultant. Graham is active with the Portland
Baroque Orchestra, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and Outward Bound.

Joe is a builder and long-time member of the Neskowin community. His two
daughters are graduates of NVS, and his wife Karen taught at NVS for 10
years and still fills in as a substitute upon occasion.





Leslie was an award-winning elementary school teacher for 15 years before
becoming an instructor at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Her focus is K-8
math and science curriculum, instruction, and assessment. She is currently
teaching PT for Antioch University and working on several international Science
Foundations projects.


David has returned to the NVS Board of Trustees after serving an original 10
years. He develops computer software for businesses in the
Portland/Beaverton area. His daughter Cedar is an alumna of NVS.





The Scheinberg family entered the very first NVS class in 1973 with their two
daughters Sandi and Sindi. She and her husband are the co-founders of
Seaberg Co, Inc that manufactures the SAM Splint which is marketed around the
world.








Dr. Guy Sievert has 38 years experience as a teacher, administrator, and coach
in colleges and universities and two years ago teaching and coaching in high
school. He currently is serving part-time as the coordinator of the Portland Area
Higher Education Consortium and as Chair of the Neskowin Citizen Planning
Advisory Committee. He and his wife Donna reside in Neskowin. They have
three adult children, all residing in the Portland area.
