Exploring Tidepools Ages 6-14 M-F June 28-July 2
9 a.m.-3 p.m. $265
Learn about tidepool ecosystems and communities, then
explore the riches of the Cape Kiwanda Marine Garden.
Hands-on investigation for the budding scientist, plus
art activities and opportunities to teach others.

Indoor/Outdoor Art Ages 3-5 M-F June 28-July 2
9 a.m.-noon or 2:30 p.m. $230 full day $150 half day
Enjoy art activities (painting, clay and collage
explorations, to name a few) in our materials-rich
classroom and outdoors, where the sky’s the limit.
Parents can choose a noon or 2:30 p.m. pickup time.

Medieval World Ages 7-11 M-F July 5-9
9 a.m.-3 p.m. $265
Join us for our 7th year of exploring the ancient world
with this weeklong recreation of the medieval period,
including history, literature, architecture and art. Your
instructors, Julie and John Fiedler, will help you create a
medieval costume and armor and you will put on a
medieval feast, pageant and play for a guest audience.

Outdoor Explore Ages 3-6 M-F July 5-9
9 a.m.-noon or 2 p.m. $150 half day  $230 full day
Explore the outdoors on our 5-acre campus, delving into
woods, meadows and creeks with teacher Kate Parker.
Parents can choose a noon or 2:30 p.m. pickup time.

Slab Creek Summer Days Ages 5-10 M-F July 12-16
9 a.m.-3 p.m. $265
Summer time is easy living: time for lazy water play,
reading, drawing, painting and creating poetry. Cooking,
herb-gathering, flower-pressing, and salad-making. Fort-
building, carving, knitting, weaving, and all variety of
reveling in the sun. Participants will bring home their
own creations and a scrapbook their experiences.
Bring on the Gnomes! Ages 5-7 M-F July 19-23
9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. $265
Come join us in the imaginative world of gnomes,
where teachers Jenny Case and Catie Dalton will
guide very young children in speculating about and
creating a place for little forest people to thrive.
Science work in ground-level ecosystems combined
with flights of fancy will send students hunting for
gnomes and the animals, plants and insects that live
nearby. They will also build gnome homes from
natural materials.

Outdoor Pursuits Ages 10-15 M-F July 19-23
10 a.m.-3 p.m. $325
(includes lunch and one dinner/breakfast)
NVS teacher Amy Henderson will guide you through
an active week of hiking, games, scavenger hunt
design, outdoor survival, orienteering and local
ecosystem study. Includes one overnight adventure,
cooking a full meal and tenting on the grounds of
the school.

Beach Explorations Ages 3-6 M-F July 26-30
9 a.m.-noon or 2:30 p.m. $150 half day $230 full day
Spend a week at the beach, hiking, exploring,
digging, building, and learning about beach
and tidepool habitats.

Writer’s Workshop Grades 6-8 M-F August 9-13
9:30 a.m.-3 p.m.. $295
During this week-long session, you will craft poetry,
narratives, and short stories. In a friendly and
supportive setting with other young writers, you will
live the life of an author: navigating genres, sharing
your work, and responding to words that want your
attention. You will create a record of your work
while exploring the world of self-publication. Get in
touch with your creative side!
Payment (in full) for class holds a space for your child.

Come to the Central Oregon Coast this summer, and bring the kids! Our summer classes will engage, educate and delight your children as you do your own thing:
take a class at Sitka Center for Art and Ecology, hike Cascade Head, bike old Highway 101, visit a cafe or brewpub or just relax at the beach.

Neskowin Valley School is located between Lincoln City and Pacific City, 3 miles up a country road near Neskowin. For 37 years the school, nestled on 5 acres of
woodland, meadows and creek, has provided small classes and whole-child education for children ages 3 to grade 8. Our dedicated staff teach many of the
summer classes, providing the hands-on, experiential class work NVS students receive year-round.
